Grade and Rank the Problem Ideas
Grades 1-3
Grade the remaining ideas, using these grades:
A = B idea plus the readers say “Wow!”
B = Adult readers probably would not have thought of this.
C = Adult readers probably would think of this.
Hint: Dr. G. says that, of the original 10 ideas, there are 3 “A” ideas, 1 “B” idea, 2 “C” ideas, and 4 ideas crossed out.

Repeat Tasks 2.1.2 – 2.2.4 until you have at least five “A” ideas.

Use a Decision Table to find the best idea. Add more rows if necessary. Flip a coin if there is a tie.

APPLICATION – Small Groups
Follow the task in this lesson. Brainstorm at least 15 problems your troublemaker causes.
- After brainstorming, delete or change problems that do not fit the situation.
- Continue brainstorming and deleting until you have at least five ideas that fit.
- Grade the ideas.
- If you have fewer than three “A’s”, then do one or both of these–
- Do more brainstorming
- Funnel
- Combine
- Once you have 3+ A ideas, then create and use a Decision Table. Arrive at a best idea.
