Write the Old Section g1-3

LESSON 2.5
Write the Old Section

Grades 1-3

Let’s say that you brought lemurs from the New Section to the Old section:

If I could be any wild animal,

Left-hand Verb phrase Right-hand
I would be an aye-aye lemur

If I could be any wild animal,

Left-hand Verb phrase Right-hand
I+ lemurs would be an aye-aye lemur

First Sentence

Let’s write your first sentence. It needs three parts:

I an emotion lemurs.

For example, if you were going to say something about horses, you might say—

I love horses.

Or about spiders you might say—

I hate spiders.

Or you might look at a slug and say,

Slugs are disgusting.

Task 2.5.1 – Tandem

Say a first sentence about lemurs. Make sure it has the word I in it.

Facts

Next, you need facts. You can’t write without them.  Facts are like this—

  • There are 330 million people in the United States.
  • There are 56 million people in Thailand.
  • One out of six phones have poop on them.
  • People used to brush their teeth with mouse brains.

Your teacher probably has taught you a unit on lemurs.  You have remembered these facts:

  1. I first saw lemurs when we watched Madagascar.
  2. A lemur is the oldest primate.
  3. They live on Madagascar.
  4. They live in clans.
